Pardons

The same Criminal Code that convicted you earlier now allows you to apply to the National Parole Board for a pardon. A pardon seals the record of your conviction so it can not be released except in extreme cases. A pardon does not erase your conviction, it only makes it harder for anyone to find out about it.

Why would you spend the money for a pardon? Many jobs and even some community groups require you to have a clean criminal record. If you have not taken the time to obtain a pardon you may be denied these opportunities.

It can take anywhere from six to twelve months to obtain your pardon. If you have made any mistakes on your application it may need to be re-submitted with all the delays again coming into play. For a small investment our firm will handle all the details of your application and insure that all information is filed in the correct manner.

If you wish to travel to the United States for either work or pleasure, it will be necessary to obtain a Travel Waiver. Again, this could take up to year for the waiver to be returned. In most cases you must already have your Canadian pardon before applying for the travel waiver. This makes it doubly important to handle the paperwork correctly.
